DeWayne Weaver, DVM
Owner/Practitioner
Dr. Weaver has been practicing Veterinary Medicine for over 30 yrs. He was the owner of Green Camp Vet Clinic from 1999 until 2022. He purchased Southgate Veterinary Clinic in May 2017, from Dr. Matt Verbsky. Over his career, Dr. Weaver has worked on all kinds of large and small animals, but he only practices small animal medicine and surgery at Southgate.
He enjoys the challenge of medicine and its many changing facets. Dr. Weaver does traditional medicine but is also working towards some available holistic options.
Growing up in a rural setting on a dairy farm near Kenton, Dr. Weaver developed a passion for all types of animals. This is what has drawn him back to the rural area where he now practices.
He enjoys the outdoors and spending his time with his wife, Melissa, their children and grandchildren.

Natasha Dyer, DVM
Practitioner
Dr. Natasha (Tasha) Dyer is a 2009 graduate of The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine. Since then, Natasha has practiced in several clinics seeing both large and small animals. A native of Kenton, her farming background pulled her into a career of caring for animals at a young age. She loves surgery and working with clients to care for their pets.
In her free time, Tasha and her husband, Shawn, are working hard to pass their love of animals and farming on to their 2 children. Dr. Dyer is frequently seen transporting her kids and orphaned lambs around to various sports and school events. She also enjoys reading, singing, camping with the family and just relaxing around the house/farm.

Johanna Schulz, DVM
Practitioner
Dr. Schulz (also known as Dr. Jo) is a native Californian who graduated from The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2024. Throughout her life, Dr. Schulz has had the opportunity to work with a variety of animals, including zoo, livestock, exotic, and companion mammals. She has special interests in behavior, oncology, and exotic companion mammals. Her favorite part about being a veterinarian is the endless learning opportunities and ability to meet and treat new patients every day–including exotics!
Outside of the clinic, Dr. Schulz and her husband, Kyle (a native of Bellefontaine), enjoy reading and playing puzzles/board games when they aren’t busy spending time with their friends or pets–and soon to be first child. They have a dog and multiple guinea pigs, whom Dr. Schulz typically obtains as older rescues and allows them to live out their senior years with love.

Cathy Zilles
Assistant/Reception
Cathy Zilles has been with Southgate since 2006. One of her biggest joys is spending time with her four grandchildren, which keeps her pretty busy. If she is not with them she enjoys hiking, kayaking, fishing, biking, and anything outdoors in the Summer, because she hibernates in the Winter.

Donna Stevenson
Receptionist/Office Manager
Donna has been with Southgate since 2018. One of my favorite parts of my job is working with all the fur babies. I love when they walk through the door and give kisses or make it known they have arrived. Every pet has its own personality and getting to know each one is always a neat experience. I am truly blessed that my husband Rich loves animals too. I enjoy being with my animals and taking them to different places with me. When I am not at work I love being outside hiking, kayaking, camping, and doing different crafting projects.

Andrea Smith
Registered Veterinary Technician
Andrea began her journey with the Southgate team in September of 2020. She graduated from technician school in 2013 and started out in ER medicine, then transferred into shelter medicine and 4.5 years ago she made the move to general practice. Her favorite part of her job is surgery. Getting to meet and learn about our patients that come in for appointments is another favorite part of her job. Schnauzers will always hold a special place in her heart and always makes her day when one comes in to visit. She currently has a human kiddo, a fur baby kitty, and a dog named Hairy. When she isn’t working she enjoys spending time with her family and friends. Some other things she enjoys are hiking, antiquing, and exploring new places in Ohio.

Gabrielle Weaver
Registered Veterinary Technician
Gabrielle has been with Southgate since 2020. She has an associate’s degree in Office Management and is also licensed Veterinary Technician from Columbus State. She has grown up around the veterinary profession and has a passion for helping animals. When she isn’t working she loves hanging out with her friends and family and doing activities outside.

Lindsey Kimball
Technician in training
I joined the Southgate team in 2021. I started as an assistant and am currently in the process of finishing up my vet tech degree. I grew up on a farm and that is where my love for animals developed. I have a cat named Chloe and a dog named Nico. In my free time I enjoy playing the drums, writing music, drawing and traveling.

Tessa Allen
Tessa started at Southgate in April of 2023. She graduated from the Bradford Vet Tech Institute in 2019 and has been in general practice for 4 years. Her favorite part of the job is behavior, helping patients, learning and educating clients. She has plenty of fuzzy and scale babies at home to keep her busy, she has 3 dog, 5 cats, 2 rats, a rabbit, a hamster and a ball python. She also has 2 children at home that she cares for.

Haley Fisher
Vet Assistant
Hi I’m Haley! I am an assistant here at South Gate as of August 2025. Caring for animals has always been a passion of mine and after completing trade school for veterinary science I knew I was on the right path when my desire to help animals felt like my second nature.
Outside of work, I’m a proud mom of two daughters and a happy owner of a Golden Retriever who keeps our home intriguing. When I’m not chasing after my kids or caring for animals, you’ll find me playing softball or exploring new places and making more memories along the way.

Allyson Evans
Receptionist
I love working with animals and getting to see all the fur babies. I enjoy getting to see all the different breeds and learning about them. When I am not working, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. I have 3 dogs Fat boy, Rip and Titus that I enjoy playing fetch with, they love to keep me busy and can always find something to get into.
